Updating esxi server
As I described previously here, there are some options to update online or offline firmware and drivers on HP Servers with VMware v Sphere installed. In this post we discuss step by step how to perform the upgrade using HP Service Pack for Proliant (SPP).It's the web UI featured throughout in this article, no command line needed.More about this upgrade in VMware Security Advisory VMSA-2017-0013: upgrading your host(s) to ESXi 6.5 Update 1.If you're coming from any version prior to 6.5.0d, there's a another benefit to 6.5 U1.Using this VCSA version, coupled with ESXi 6.5.0d, will enable you to enable the new and greatly improved v SAN 6.6.1!Also you can validate the ESXi host is now upgraded to “ESXi 6.5.0”. We are done with the upgrade ESXi 6.0 to ESXi 6.5 using VMware Update Manager. This upgrade is also known as version 22.214.171.12400 or 6.5U1, as seen in the v Center Server Appliance Management Interface (VAMI), as pictured above.
If you consider the enterprise infrastructure with more than hundred of ESXi hosts may require to upgrade it via VMware Update Manager to simplify the upgrade procedure.
Since this is my lab, I will be importing the VMware vanilla image of ESXi 6.5 .
